A literary and cultural organization Meherpur Desk organized a month-long Amar Ekushey Virtual Book Fair on the centenary of Mujib’s birththat ended successfully. The virtual book fair of this new idea started on February 1 and ended on March 1 through the evaluation and closing ceremony. Domestic and foreign poets and writers participated in this virtual book fair.
Last Monday night, Meherpur Desk held a virtual closing ceremony of the book fair. IT Researcher MA Muhith, the founder of the organization, presided over it. Former Secretary Alkama Siddiqui was present as the Chief Guest while Principal Khan Akhtar Hossain, the eminent writer, Liberation War based filmmaker and Founder President of Gangchil Sahitya Parishad, a great literateur Principal Habib Anisur Rahman, Munshi Abu Saif, Associate Professor ofChuadanga Government College, Advocate Ibrahim Shahin, former President of Udichi, Dilara Jahan, President of Bangabandhu Sahitya Parishad, Meherpur Branch and former General Secretary Meherpur Press Club Poet Rafiqul Alam were virtually attached as special guests. The virtual event was moderated byRuhulQuddus Tito, former president of Meherpur Press Club.
The chief guest in his speech said that Meherpur Desk made a history by organizing a virtual Amar Ekushey Book Fair when everything was stagnant in Corona because this work of novel thinking has not been known anywhere else in Bangladesh. He said that we have made history by starting our war of independence from Mujibnagar in Meherpur.Similarly, Meherpur Desk created an exemplary history by organizing a virtual book fair on the centenary of Mujib’s birth. The chief guest announced the awardon the occasion. Principal Khan Akhter Hossain, Founder President of Gangchil Sahitya Parishad, a great literateur Principal Habib Anisur Rahman, Associate Professor Munshi Abu Saifof Chuadanga Government College as a successful literary critic and journalist RuhulQuddus Tito as a skilled moderator received the Meherpur Desk Award.
President MA Muhith expressed his gratitude to all and announced that he would organize a poetry festival with the poets scattered in the grassroots level in the future.
